Soon after Kael'thas Sunwell plot is foiled, Arthas realizes he needs a fourth horsemen, So he rushes to the sunwell and raises Kael'thas, only to find he has no head! Luckily, Arthas did the Hallows End event, so he gladly gave Kael'Thas his * Hallowed Helm * Binds when picked up * Cloth * Head * 54 Armor * Durability 20 / 20 * "There's a hole for your head..." When you encounter Kael'Thas in Naxx, he talks about how his loss at the sunwell was only a minor setback, and that he should have realized long ago that the path Arthas followed was the true way to sustain his mana addiction, because who needs to feed your addiction when your dead? Then you kill him. But no! Thats not the end, Lady Vashj, who is returning from Outland herself, senses her old commrad in the dread citidle, and, knowing she needs all the alleys she can get to return to her queen, rushes to save him. She immediately works to ressurect him, and when he breaths again, she tells him the only true way to sustain his addiction is to delve into the malstorm, to where the original well of eternity was. He agrees and becomes a Naga himself, and they go to the sunken city of Nazjatar. The queen works to revive the well of eternity so she can rule the world once more, and when the players come in to stop her, Kael'Thas blocks there way, stateing that the path of Undeath was a false one, but it was only a minor setback, and he now knew the truth, that the original well of eternity was the only way to save him. Right now the raid realizes that he can not truely be killed, so they after defeating him they bind him to eternal sleep, Where of course he finds a way to enter the emerald dream. As the player continues to the emerald dream, Kael'Thas renounces queen Azshara, stating that she only caused him yet another minor setback, but now Kael'Thas knew how to end his addiction forever. Once the nightmare took over the dream, he would easily be able to drain the magic of the realm directly to himself, and he would wield unlimited power! The player defeats him again, thinking him to be truly gone now that they had severed his spirit from his body. But it turns out they only banished it from the realm, and Sargeras found him wandering in the Nether. Kael'Thas is promised endless power, and of course he was never one to turn that down, Kael'Thas is was returned to his sleeping body, and he goes straight to his new masters tomb and begins to summon Sargeras. When the players confront him he thanks them for defeating his dream form, that it had allowed him to be united with more power then they could possibly know. No more minor setbacks! he shouts as the portal opens for Sargeras to enter. Unfourtinatly as Sargeras enters he swats aside Kael'Thas, killing him, and then the burning legion conquers the world.
