1. What is the name of your character and class? How did you hear about our guild? Why are you interested in joining us?
-My character is a Paladin named Aaesop.
-I've known of your guild via Augustus whom I've mentored and known in game for quite some time. Along this period of time we've discussed and bantered about our guilds and its nuances. I've also been on your vent for an officer discussion on mechanizing steps for your guild.
-I'm interested in joining because as I had mentioned to some of your officers I was at the time burned out from raiding due to the happenings of Tyrants. However, I'm beginning to feel the need to step foot back into raiding again.
I feel that your guild is in a transitioning period and has talent on tap and merely needs a push to really get going and hopefully my efforts and work will help contribute to that extra "oomph" to really make the guild shine.
2. What is your age?
-311 months old currently aka 25.
3. Do you have any references in Sassy Pink Dragons I can talk to about you?
-Augustus would most likely be your best bet.
4. Tell us about yourself, interests, hobbies, etc.
-Well as you already know I'm 25. I've played a Protection Specced Paladin for over 4 years now, and have a passion for it as far as it goes in this game. I've written some compendiums and guides as far as this aspect goes, and as well as some field guides for Holy specced folks. I played Junior level hockey for 4 years until injuries prevented me from continuing on with hockey as a profession. I'm from the Talequah area of North Carolina. English is my second language, Cherokee is my first.
I obviously have a love for lacrosse because of my heritage, I love to watch/play it along with watching hockey, I played baseball and still get together with friends to play.
I'm a tattoo artist, former dj, computer tech, webdesigner, and shittons other things.
5. What guilds have you previously been in and what were the reasons of leaving? Which raids have you seen and have experienced in Pre-BC, BC, and WotLK?
PreBC Guilds: Random Casualty,Aussie Raiders.
BC-WOTLK:Visceral Vacuity,Snarf,Rune,Snarf (reformedlol!),Tyrants.
I won't blather on about my reasonings for guild switching in PreBC as its not exactly pertinent to now.
However as for bc-wotlk I haven't hopped guilds much. VV started with dreador and myself, and we ended up merging with Snarf around the mid Karazhan level. We then later on took on the better raiders in 2 smaller guilds along with Pathogen and made the guild Rune, where we cleared BT and were just freshly stepping foot in SW, then WOTLK hit.
We ended up reforming as Snarf at one point just to drop the Rune name and kick it back to how Snarf was. However we were around Sapphiron in naxx25 when our GM felt he had enough of it. He dropped out and took some friends with him to another server. Dreador and myself again made a guild named Tyrants. We went in the next day and cleared out Naxx25 for the first time, and without 5 key members. Fast forward to present time, Tyrants folded when our GM had a breakdown and it was disbanded, where I've chilled with friends in a casual guild.
-I've seen every fight in the game in the capacity of a tank role, this includes Algalon that I did runs with on a PTR pug.
6. What is your spec (Include numbers please)? Why are you playing this spec? Are you experienced in different specs of your class?
-My specialization is 5/55/11. I play this spec because I feel it provides the upmost survivability. It also has nothing in the way of 'chance' which I feel is the bane of tanking. Stability and predictability help the raid emensely. It also provides great amounts of threat and DPS that's completely consistant.
-I've played Retribution in smaller raids (naxx's/os/maly) where my Tanking isn't necessary.
-I've also kept abreast of Holy spec nuances and technique by playing a friends character very occasionally in pugs such as the ones I do when Retribution.
7. Please describe your gear and insert a link to your armory page. If your gear on the armory is NOT the gear you wear to raids please inform us ahead of time. Please include your choice of enchants and gems.
My Armory Link
-I'm missing some few key items (key in my mind) that I'd like to build with, however it is competitive enough for the very last legs of Ulduar, and proses no handicap to the raid force.
I use Stamina enchants and Gems primarily when I have well more than met my tanking number requirements. One would assume to maybe throw some Str gems in the mix however stamina does provide spell damage by a percentile, so its the best of both worlds.
I use accuracy to keep a respectable amount of hit for my taunts and abilities. I also use Snapper Extreme as a food. My expertise is a very healthy number that keeps me over a 90% chance to not be parried, which in turn helps with survivability.
Armsman for my glove enchant as it is the standard tank hand enchant. My gemming/enchants for the most part are par for the course standard.
My gearing theory still to this day revolves around "EH" and I predict it'll stay this way for quite some time until Blizzard decides to do something radical with tanking changes. It provides healers the most predictable damage intake so that there isn't much in the way of random bursts of my HP dropping. It also provides me with the biggest range of uptime for Ardent Defender possible which without any CD's puts paladins ahead of any other class in DMG Reduction.
8. Do you have any WWS reports from your raids we can take a look at? Please post links.
We did used to keep a WWS report however that stopped quite some time ago.
9. We are transitioning to raid 8:30 PM – 12:00 AM Eastern time/Server time. Mondays-Thursdays. The first one or two nights are devoted to farm content allowing two days or more allotted to Ulduar progression. Do these raid times fit your schedule?
They're completely fine with me.
10. DKP System:
-4 Points are awarded per hour of raiding (in raid or standby).
-4 Points are awarded per raid that you attend from start-to-finish
-2 Points are awarded for a guild first kill (in raid only).
-There is no cap limit on how many points you can accumulate.
-We have a minimum bid on items (ie you must bid at least the min bid to get the item). Item values are set at the following:
5 points minimum bid for rings, trinkets, necks, capes, sigils, idols, and librams
10 points minimum bid for armor, off-hands, and wands
15 points minimum bid for weapons and tier items
-There is no maximum to how many points you can spend.
-Bidding is silent and tells will be sent to the raid leader when the item you are bidding is posted.
-Main spec raiders always have priority over off-spec and there is occasionally class priority assigned to certain items.
-Casuals and new recruits are allowed to bid minimum on items. To bid higher, they will have to have raided a certain percentage over a recent time period.
**Note this DKP system is subject to change.**
Is this something you would like to be a part of?
-Can't see why not
11. Any final comments/notes you would like to let us know?
-I look forward to raiding with you all and hopefully during so, we drop some new bosses and win at wow.
