Hello everyone.
If you read my application, you may have learned a bit about me. i'm sure however since it was an application, you may have not read it since you might not be a paladin or just not giva shit
First off my name is James, Jim for short of course, or my Cherokee name Agasga Ulogili. Why yes, im an "injun."Ahh lol, I'm 25, hitting 26 July 4th. Born in N.Carolina, but live in Pontiac,Michigan.
I've been in sports most of my life, Lacrosse, baseball, soccer, and hockey. I still play the first two with friends. I played hockey at a Junior level, however knee and back injuries forced me to stop playing.
I've worked for an IT Firm in the capacity of a webdesigner, pc builder/pc tech. I've built every pc my family and I have owned since I was 12.
I also still currently do work as a freelance tattoo artist, working primarily from my home and at tattoo parties. Obviously because of that, I also enjoy art.
I have a Bachelors Degree in Ornamental Horticulture, I do keep a garden as well lol.
As far as wow goes, I was an early beta tester where I played a druid, I then played the same class for the early stages of vanilla wow, back when things like Stratholme/Scholo were endgame raiding, and the Imperial Plate green blacksmithing set was amazing. Later I sold my druid and rolled here on Shattered Hand as a dwarf hunter. Around midway around the time my guild was past Vael in BWL I rolled a Paladin who has always been since prebc, a protection specced Paladin.
I've been an officer or guild leader in every guild I've been in, I think this is due mostly to my experience in sports. I feel that it's a necessary trait with anyone that tanks majority of their time, since their voice is always much needed in raids to help direct what can be done and what can't as well as spurr of the moment issues.
Before joining this guild I was an officer and one of the Maintanks for <Tyrants>. We cleared 10man Ulduar with many hard modes and were making Yogg-Saron attempts on 25, we of course had also had hard mode achievements in that version of the raid instance as well. The success of that guild came from having our noses down working hard every night, good communication, and discipline. I look forward to success here as well, and hopefully via the things I mentioned just a second ago.
I have a few in game passions, Raiding,Tanking and my class.
I love raiding for its teamwork and coordination aspect, raiding is different from 5mans in the concept, you can't make it with just a few great players carrying the raid, unlike a 5man where you only need a great healer or tank to make up. You also need competency of players, 5mans you can get away with at least 1 person having common sense. Raids however fall when they don't have a majority of the raid force knowledgeable.
I love tanking, even the stress it brings. I theorycraft about protection spec as far as the paladin goes. I've written some guides and seek to help even pug paladin tanks whether I'm on my pally or rogue.
At first my main love was proving others wrong, as I played prebc as protection, it was something unheard of and very much frowned on. Even in the first half of BC a paladin tanking anything of danger was considered a taboo act. Main
I feel that tanking just edges out healing in terms of stres. Simply because not only do you need to follow the rotation, there's a specific strat just for you, you also need to be knowledgeable in the dps' role, the mobs other people are dealing with, and maintain a notion of whatever dangers your other raid members are facing, or react to unforeseen dangers that occurs.
I love pvp, however I've always been a hardcore raider, I do most of my arena's on my Rogue hellokittie, made glad in s4 when we had a lul in raiding. If I didn't love tanking so much, I'd be playing her.
I love helping others out, it's why I was so quick to talk to the people here about joining, as Augustus is a good in game friend of mine. If I have the time, I'm always happy to help someone out.
I can't think of much else to write, I look forward to killing shit with you all
